About Our Client in His Own Words:
“I am going to study Computer Science at Durham University in September. It is my first time away from home and I am looking for a PA to help me with organisation, academic support, and socialising.
My condition is a ‘hidden disability’, but it affects my day to day living in the following ways:
I have autism, hypermobility, and anxiety. I can be hypersensitive to noise, smells, and temperatures and at times need help with my fine motor skills particularly when I get very tired. My autism and anxiety can make it difficult for me to participate in group activities and social situations and my sensory issues can make some day-to-day activities difficult. Therefore, I need help navigating student life to ensure I can participate fully both academically and socially.
My main hobbies are reading particularly science fiction, Dungeon and Dragons, computer games (league of legends), watching Marvel and Star Wars films and building Lego. However, I would be keen to try new activities at Durham, perhaps resume fencing or have a go at rowing. I like to go to the gym, and I really enjoy helping people, so perhaps getting involved in volunteer work would be good. We have four cats at home which I will be sad to leave behind – so I really hope the Durham cat café reopens!”
